"Iron Mike" Mervosh To Be The Grand Marshall

Most Decorated Marine Alive Will Kick Off The July 4th 2009 Celebration

Boulevard, CA. -  A distinguished veteran of the battle of Iwo Jima and Marine assault
landings on Kwajalein, Saipan and Tinian will be the Grand Marshall for the second
annual Secure America Now! event being held at Camp Vigilance on Independence
Day. "Iron Mike" Mervosh held the highest enlisted rank in any military service for nineteen
years and is the most decorated Marine alive.  He was awarded the Bronze Star and a
second Navy Commendation Medal for "heroic" actions while serving with 5th Marine
Regiment, 1st Marine Division, in Korea. After two tours in Vietnam with 1st Marine
Division, he received a third Navy Commendation Medal and his third Purple Heart.
The boots he wore in Korea are spit shined and complete the military hero's uniform
to this day. Mike is expected to give a rousing speech on service to your country to
launch the event.

"I am honored to be invited to participate as the Grand Marshall of this
important event." he said

Iron Mike joins other guests like former Congressman and Presidential candidate
Tom Tancredo who is the events keynote speaker. Secure America Now is a private

organizations sponsor the event which is in its second year and expected to draw 500
or more attendees. Country Rock artist Michael Britton will in concert for several sets
during the day and Geno's West Coast BBQ will cater the event.

Our organization was formed to build a better relationship between the private citizen and the Department of Homeland Security, US Border Patrol, Immigration Customs Enforcement and local Law Enforcement agencies around the country.  We are a non-partisan, non-political association whose goals are to:

  1. Support the Border Patrol and other DHS Agencies in the accomplishment of their duties.
  2. Educate and train private citizens and organized neighborhood watch groups using DHS approved training resources.
  3. Provide a network of specially trained citizen Cyber Watchers scouring the web for threats to our country.
  4. Engage A Maritime Division to watch over our coastal borders and work with the appropriate law enforcement authorities in identifying suspected human & drug traffic activities.
  5. Assist the Border Patrol in recruiting top talent for field positions on college campuses and on the Internet.
  6. Support the BP Agents in the field and families of agents who have been or are being unjustly prosecuted for defending our nations borders.

We are not affiliated in any way with the US Government or the Department of Homeland Security though, our sponsoring organization, the Homeland Security Policy Institute Group is one of a handful of private sector organizations permitted to use the DHS logo and receives the DHS daily Bulletin.
